Nursery School Classes
2 ½-Year-Old Class
Child must be 2½ by September 1st
2 days a week – 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM
Tuesday, Thursday
3 days a week – 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM
Monday, Wednesday, Friday
This class of up to eight children, taught with lots of tender, loving care, contains an emphasis on socialization through games, songs, art, and play. All classes participate in music, gym class and chapel.
3-Year-Old Class
Child must be 3 by September 1st
2 days a week – 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM
Tuesday, Thursday
3 days a week – 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM or 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM
Monday, Wednesday, Friday
This class of up to 10 children includes teaching the recognition of shapes, colors, letters, and numbers. Many experiences with nature, science, and children’s literature will be combined with lots of indoor and outdoor play. Classes participate in music, gym class and chapel.
4-Year-Old Class
Child must be 4 by September 1st
3 days a week – 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM
Monday, Wednesday, Friday
4 days a week – 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM or 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM
Monday through Thursday
This class is limited to 12 children in the Monday, Wednesday, Friday class, and 14 in the Monday through Thursday class. The curriculum includes early story writing, simple mathematics, recognition of and printing of letters and numbers along with of arts, crafts, music, and stories. Classes participate in music, gym class, chapel and library.
Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) Class
Child must be 4 by September 1st
5 days a week – 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM or 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM
Monday through Friday
This class is limited to 12 children. The curriculum includes early story writing, simple mathematics, recognition of and printing of letters and numbers along with of arts, crafts, music, and stories. Classes participate in music, gym class, chapel and library.
Specials
Music Class
Music is taught by Mrs. Martha Reynolds and is held weekly for all classes. Children learn seasonal songs with movements as well as chants and finger plays.
Gym Class
Gym class is held twice a month for all classes. Gym is taught by Barry and Jocelyn Weidner. During each thirty minute gym class children are working on gross motor skills as well as learning to enjoy sports and physical activity.
Chapel
Chapel is held monthly for all classes. During Chapel, children gather in the church (usually with the rector) where they listen to short Bible stories and sing songs.
Library
Library is held weekly for children in our 4 year old and Pre-K classes. Each child receives a library card in September and can then use that card to check out a book each week.
We also offer optional enrichment classes for children.
