Please note: All in-person activities and services at Saint Matthew’s remain suspended as we seek to do our part to help contain the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). We ask you to keep in your prayers all who have been affected by this pandemic and those who care for them. To stay in community and support one another during this time, we will continue to live-stream our service at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday.

Nursery School

Welcome to St. Matthew’s Nursery School!

Our popular weekday preschool is sponsored by Saint Matthew’s Church and open to the public for enrollment. The Nursery School has been in the community for 25 years. This fee-based, non-profit school provides the highest quality age-appropriate classes for children 2 ½ to 5 years of age. Our classes are half-day sessions offered both in the mornings and in the afternoons as well as the optional 1-week summer program the third week in June.

Size and Staffing

There are approximately 140 children enrolled in our Preschool and the superior staff consists of seven teachers and ten teachers’ aides. All of our classes are staffed with both a certified teacher and an aide.

Our Mission

The mission of the nursery school is to care for children in a safe nurturing environment, while helping them grow socially, intellectually, physically and emotionally. Teachers work with children both as an individual and as a member of a group. We look to provide the foundations of Christian education through the use of art, music, stories, and outdoor play. We emphasize that learning is fun. All of our classes participate in music class once a week, gym class twice a month as well as Chapel once a month. The educational experience is enhanced through field trips and special programs that visit the school throughout the year. Our playground is completely fenced in and provides children the opportunity to explore, climb, slide, with plenty of room to run.
