St. Matthew's Episcopal Church Maple Glen, Pennsylvania

Please note: Regular in-person activities and services at Saint Matthew’s remain suspended as we seek to do our part to help contain the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). We ask you to keep in your prayers all who have been affected by this pandemic and those who care for them. To stay in community and support one another during this time, we will continue to live-stream our service at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday. We are now also offering an in-person worship service, held outdoors, each Sunday at 8:00 a.m., weather permitting.

Resources for Visitors

Membership & Sacraments

Holy Baptism makes us members of Christ and his Church, the Family of God.  Any baptized person who wishes to join this parish may do so by notifying the clergy of their desire and by supplying (if possible) the place and date of their Baptism and Confirmation to be enrolled in the parish records.  At the next visitation of a bishop to Saint Matthew’s, new members may be presented for Confirmation, Reception or Reaffirmation of Faith as described below.

Confirmation, Reception and Reaffirmation

We believe that all Christians need to make a mature commitment of faith as adult believers.  Newcomers who have not had this opportunity will be encouraged to seek Confirmation by the bishop. New members who are not Episcopalians and have previously made such a commitment may be presented to the bishop to be Received into this communion.
