The Lifelong Learning Ministry: Children

Toddler to Grade 5

St. Matthew’s Church is one of the very few churches in the country to have all four levels of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) in one place. In 2022, we celebrate 30 years of CGS at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church!

Woohooooo! The day we have all been waiting for is here! The doors of our Sunday School modular buildings are OPEN! Register your child for Sunday School today!

The first day of Sunday School is September 12th, from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. Masks will be worn at all times by the children and staff. We will have hand sanitizer in each room. This September, we plan to reacquaint ourselves to one another, reorient ourselves to our atria, and pray COVID-19 doesn’t interrupt our plans. We know that some families may not want their children to attend Sunday School until the pandemic is no longer an issue. With those families in mind, our CGS team is also putting together take-home learning activities similar to the ones provided last year.

Worship for Children and Youth | The last Sunday of every month is Youth Sunday. This is a special Sunday when we can attend church with our families and the St. Matthew’s family! There will be opportunities for CGS children to participate throughout the liturgy. Please note that there will be no Sunday School on the last Sunday of the month for Level 2 and Level 3 children. However, Sunday School WILL be held for the Toddlers and Level 1 children.
